5 Speed driveshaft problem

Hi

i've finally completed my 5 speed conversion using a 91 Legacy RS gearbox and running gear. My last problem well hopefully, the drive shaft is hitting the gearlever bracket. I took the bracket with rubber bush from the legacy and bolted it to the svx but it hangs too low and hits the driveshaft under acceleration. Has anyone else had this problem? or any photos of what they did so it has clearance?

I believe several people have used shims to increase the clearance. Fortunately, I did not have this issue.

Sorry for my ignorance but how could you use shims to give more clearance?

Shims on the driveshaft/transmission mounts to lower them slightly.

Sorry of course, i'd prefer a different option as the new gearbox mount makes it pretty hard to add shims.

Thanks for your help tho

I think I had this same problem saturday when I changed my driveshaft to one from a 95 legacy. I put a couple washers to lower the driveline at the carrier bearing bracket. That solved my problem.
