Acura forum is not so good...need help
The clutch on my Acura TL is acting wonky. The baffling part is that it is intermittent. Sometimes the clutch will grab at a much lower pedal position than normal. Usually when it does this it also sticks or returns very slowly. On some mornings the clutch will not fully disengage when I press it to start the car. If I press the pedal, put it in neutral, release the pedal and press it again, the car starts fine and I can easily put it into reverse.
It is a 2005 TL with 136K miles on it. The first thing I tried was to replace the master cylinder. It worked fine for a few days and then the problem returned. It seemed to return gradually. I had my mechanic do the MC because it was noisy and I was going to replace it anyways. And the itermittent nature of the problem made me suspect the hydraulics. I don't know if he flushed the system with new fluid or just bled it. Any suggestions?

Re: Acura forum is not so good...need help
Maybe replace the clutch slave as well and check the clutch hose?
My SVX does this as well, but I think it's from the 200k+ mile used Outback clutch MC I used in my swap.

Re: Acura forum is not so good...need help
i would replace the slave and the rubber line that goes to it then flush it with dot5 brake fluid. i had a similar issue on a civic and the inside of the hose was coming apart and would intermittently block flow. when flow was blocked it blew out the seals in the master and slave.

Re: Acura forum is not so good...need help
I agree on fully checking out the hydraulics. It's easier and cheaper than cracking open the car to get at the clutch.
But it could also be the clutch disc binding on the transmission input shaft. It should be able to slide freely but if it binds it could cause erratic engagement and disengagement issues as you describe.
