It would look awesome if they just exposed the rear wheels.

But would lose the 0.186 drag coefficient if it did....I'd take it if it really gets 313 mpg!!

If I intentionally drove my car like this, I'd probably get another 10mpg and everyone on the road would wish me dead.

The intent is clear, but how about something that won't get smoked by Aveos and Insights? Looks sharp, though. Bump up from that 800cc!

I see yet another VW that won't come to the US as their Mexican workforce aren't good enough to make.

I like this for an around town trolley. Sure the air is cheap and if the compressor is powered by my solar, wind electricity, it would be a good proposition. The cold exhaust air, goes to the air conditioning, brilliant.

VW can't even make electric power windows that work - does this car come with a AAA Platinum membership?

Re: New Volkswagen XL1 concept - Similarities?

carbon fiber, aluminum, magnesium, and ceramics for the body? Good, now put all that on my SVX.

On another note, people seem to hate those windows..

Re: New Volkswagen XL1 concept - Similarities?

VW auto group did just buy ItalDesign. This makes it pretty evident.

This has most of the cues I would use on a re-up of Giugiaro's Maserati Bora, except this car is narrower.

Diesel hybrid is decent for a piston powered electric generator, but I wonder what it would be like with a turbine-compound (turbine adds power directly to the crankshaft through a reduction gear, and is not limited to whatever the compressor can push into the intake like a turbo with a wastegate), cvt-driven-supercharger, and stratified burn lean running... driving an electric generator, which in turn powers electric wheel motors/regenerative braking generators.
