Yeah definitely. So what are the plans for the build? Mean what is the list and what did you accomplish so far?

Re: very long turbo project

Nice work Cruisen. That should be a sweet finished project.

Did you think to weight the SVX lump before you stripped everything off? The reason I ask is the 4 cylinder from the Leggy GT will be lighter. It will be handy to know what the extra weight difference is going to be, for when you put in your stiffer front springs.

Re: very long turbo project

thanks guys, no unfortunatly i didnt weigh it but ill weigh the car before the swap comes and weigh it after...

as or suspension i have kyb struts and h&r lowering springs on my 92 turbo that im going to put on the 98, those are pretty stiff so i think it will do just fine.

i think the hardest part of this project will be when i have to swap wiring harnesses

thats ok though because im taking auto technician classes and by the time the whole swap comes ill feel much better about finishing with a good product

Re: very long turbo project

Does and STi water pump bolt up to the EG33? I've been trying to find that out.

Re: very long turbo project

My info says solds individually for 134 bucks each. If you can find them for 90, please hook me up

As far as 20 psi goes, I don't think theres anyone here whos run half that much boost (for very long anyway). I can only think of one person with a decent turbo set up, most FI people have superchargers which are pretty limited in output and pulley sizes imho, and even then theres not a whole lot of people in both categories that built motors. I'll probably be the first to run high boost on a built motor, assuming I can get my junk back together and keep it running. I'll let you know then.

Now answer my waterpump question haha

Re: very long turbo project

The cometic headgaskets are beefy and about $300 for the pair. I seen a set at OT's place and they are very durable.

Sorry I missed this haha. I was going to use one if it bolted up and looked like the wheel was bigger or something that looked like an upgrade, but you never know. Every STi in the country has a smaller oil pump than we have so ours could very well be better.

Re: very long turbo project

as you can see the svx water pump pulley sticks out further than the sti one, not sure if it will work anymore, wont know for a while.
