Re: New baseline requirement for a really nice svx

I was referring to Anthony when I said the "Look fast or be fast" comment.. Make your car fast first then make it look good.....

Re: New baseline requirement for a really nice svx

It's that time of year again!

Trolling through the snow,
In a one troll open sleigh,
over the trolls we go,
trolling all the way!
Trolls on bob-tail ring,
Making trolls bright,
What fun it is to troll and sing,
A trolling song tonight!

Just thought I'd share.

lol

Only problem with that is my SVX problems dont let me drive the car for lengths of time.

Lower control arm snapped and it took 1 month to source another for cheap.
Solenoid C is out and parts wont be in for another week, and snow is coming in a day or 2.

Pshhhh, and i got this car cause i was afraid of downtime with the DSM...

Cosmetically, I think any SVX without the cloud side skirts and some type of front spoiler just looks down right ugly.

Subaru should have done something like these from day one.

Motorsports is dropping the price of cloud side skirts to only $450 so run out and get your pair.
ok let's go back to the OP

Baseline for a really nice SVX
1) wheels all in the right orientation.
2) minimal headlight yellowing
3) minimal body damage/paint oxidation
4) minimal interior problems (droppy visor, broken arm rest lid button
For modifications, I think that the general rule of thumb is keeing in the spirit of the car. This was designed as a high speed touring car with a high level of comfort, refinement and sophistication. Nothing about this car was gawdy, even the split windows although unique was refined. In light of this it might be easier to say what is not allowed that what is.
5) exterior mods: no crazy wings, no altezza rear lights, no neon underglow, gills, vents, and scoops unless it is functional, NO HEADLIGHT EYELIDS.
6) paint scheme or color: no bright neon, no more than two colors, wheel colors can be different not gawdy and ricerboyish (no red wheels EVER)
7) interior mods: multicolored seat fabric, as long as it matched one of the exterior colors, trim can be wood grain, brushed aluminum or carbon fiber. if painted black and gray are acceptable. NO other colors. Pedals open, radio open, speakers open, rear mirror accessory open
8) engine bay: no useless cone filter that just sucks in hot air from the engine bay no excessively gawdy wire wraps. NO RED INTAKE MANIFOLDS. no neon, smoke or strobe lights, working hood struts, intact engine cover
9) exhaust: no riceboy fartcans.

that's about all I can think of for now.

BW

Re: New baseline requirement for a really nice svx

Baseline for a really nice SVX is to start with the owner first.
Someone who is willing to not mess with the major styling characteristics of the car.
Tint and wheels excluded.

a really nice SVX is a stocker in good condition... Otherwise it could be a really nice modified SVX, or a poorly modified SVX... I agree with turbone, its all in the hands of the owner....

Re: New baseline requirement for a really nice svx

wow, I can't believe I just read that thread... it was the biggest waist of like 10 minutes I've had in weeks...

I do think Anthony is retarded and so is his wing, among other things... but to be honest. To each their own.

Too many people on this site are so against anything being done to the SVX because they are terrified of being called a RICER! OH MAN!

I personally think ricers are lame, but everything non stock doesn't make you a ricer. Some people like aftermarket audio, and side skirts and even neons! Personally, my honest opinion is, WHO THE F### CARES??? If he makes a fool of himself, So be it!

Baseline req for a really nice SVX is one that runs and runs well and doesn't sound or look like a piece of trash IMHO, but really people.... This is stupid...
