OT finally met the 'Plaz'!

OT brought some crossmembers here on sunday. They needed a little trimming.
I'm sorry that I do not remember the 'members' name that the project was for. If I hear it again, it will be committed to memory.

I recieved the call, (The wife does not know that the 'project' happened.) I took the sorry little dog for a walk and blasted a few pieces of metal out of some crossmembers, while the sorry little dog watched from a crashed Outback.

All that I know for sure is that the wife got a meal at a local Chinese Resturant because the project!
The Jeep guy payed with a check. (Try to buy a dinner with a check on a Sunday).

Bar all the incidentals, OT was IMPRESSED with the plaz!!

A 'torch' on STEROIDES!!

I think that Huckelberry's place will be on his 'Short' list, when he needs something cut in a MINUTE!!

Plasma torches are the BOMB!! They're way expensive for the average hobbyist, but if you've got access to one they're the shiznit.

I have access to one at work, and I've used it on a lot of projects.

they can cut through damn near anything that conducts electricity...with a 40,000 degree mixture of electricity and compressed air. very precise too..Ive seen a relativly small plasma cutter blast through 1 inch aluminum plate, and left an edge that would put some saw cuts to shame

Wish we had one at the shop

I made the templates for the jeep pieces out of corrigated plastic. I used some of them 3 times and they still had the shape I needed when I THREW THEM AWAY!
