Actually it was rather stupid and just shows that they really don't have an understanding of the US. NOW, if everyone driving around was aware that these three had foreign accents----there would have been hell to pay.

Bible belt--yes---"strong" republican---well not necessarily.

I am sure we would get much more reaction in the UK by insulting the Queen or something equally stupid.

Isn't it queer how the British are as bemused by our fictitious films 'The Dukes of Hazard', 'Billy Jack', 'Deliverance' and 'Smokey and the Bandit' as we are with the antics of their non-fictitious 'Royal Family'?

As much as I love the show, a lot of what they do is really fake.. sometimes blatantly. Like the one where he shoots a rocket at the flying car, fake. Episodes where cars crash into something and blow up in huge fireballs, fake.

but entertaining.
