thast dude was smashing!

i say, that offroad part was pretty cooll

and seeing the car pitch sideways dodging traffic was cool

the best part is at the end when the cop goes running to apprehend the suspect,

and falls on his face!

hahha

watch it, the last five seconds, its hilarious

i mean that stuff wasnt cool, that sux

esp for the owner....

Make sense to me. As he forced opened the driver door, the car's alarm was not activated. (didn't hear anything from the video or see the taillights blinking until he started the car, stepped the brake lights). Maybe the owner doesn't have remote control, only use the key to access that svx.

Carmic relief

I woke up this morning to my wife telling me about the SVX chase, and that the idiot trashed a good car. My very first thought upon hearing that was, "I wonder if the SVX forum guys have found the guy who's out the car, and if they have set up a used SVX relief fund for him yet?!"

And since this IS the WORLD network, let's also salute the good taste of hooligans down under: The Courier Mail newspaper in Queensland, Australia, reported that four teens were arrested after a police pursuit in Townsville last Saturday night. A spokes-cop said officers on failed tried to intercept a white Subaru (bummer, don't know what model) but the kids abandoned the car. Their mistake? They GOT OUT OF THE SUBE!

Hardy har har.

Crazy video and really shows the potential of our "old cars". I thought the offroading was pretty good as I didnt see a cop car in any of that, also the chopper seems to have some trouble keepin up on the freeway

Wow, you can't buy publicity like that. Too bad it's only about 13 years too late.

When I saw that bit my roommate had to come in and ask what I was laughing and yelling "F*** yeah!" about.

Eerrrrr!... tht is one of heart-breaking (considering SVX) scene to watch and also one of the high speed chases I have ever seen till now. I daily watch serial of COPS and also discovery channel, but till now I haven't seen such a long chanse. OOhhh man tht sucks... stupid idiot, why cant he take away those stupid Hondas for this kind of bad things....

-Pavan

Wow!... it made me feel proud of owning such a car which is still being respected and proved its presence by making the COPS to think how difficult it is to catch when the reporter is telling about it...
Reporter: "...... SUBARU SVX, a very fast car that unfortunately did prove very difficult to catch this afternoon...."

Update:

Paul and Katie Malm, of Kirkland, talk with police Tuesday as they survey the damage to their stolen Subaru SVX. (Rick Schweinhart/Journal) - 10-05-2005

"...Wade-Everett drove from Bellevue to Kirkland, where TV networks began broadcasting dramatic images of his desperate and dangerous attempt to elude police.

His next stop was the Harbor Point Condominiums on Fifth Avenue South in Kirkland.

Katie Malm said her husband, Paul, had just walked in the door at their home in the complex. Within minutes, their neighbors said a car chase was on TV, and it looked like Paul's car, a blue Subaru SVX.

They turned on the TV, then went to look in the driveway: His car was gone.

``He had just pulled up. Apparently that's when the guy grabbed it,'' she said.

It was not an ordinary car: Her husband had picked up the blue sports car in Canada. It was a limited-edition model that was only manufactured for a few years, and combined sleek looks with four-wheel drive. Paul Malm frequently took it to Whistler, B.C.

``It's his baby,'' his wife said.
.......
Before too long, the Malms showed up to pick up their car, which was battered and scratched all around, but still driveable. Paul Malm was too upset to speak with reporters on the scene.
..."

That car seems to be battered seriously. I hope the owner will have a body work done, since the engine is absolutely fine and ofcourse it showed its competence against COPS .
