I was only refering the problem below:

Oh no. I meant it's always the ECU if the seatbelts only work with the keys in the ignition
It seams to be the numebr one seatbelt problem of svx';s

Kuoh....I had the same problem you did. Seatbelt would get jammed everytime and a nice hit would break it loose. I ripped apart the car and it turned out the wire cable that drives the seatbelt back and forth on the track became slightly un-twisted which caused the seatbelt to jam. I re-twisted it with a pair of pliers and re-assemled and it has worked flawlessly for over a year now. Might want to give it a try.

One of these days I'm going to convert the whole system to a manual type! That way, I don't have to keep reminding my passenger to put the lap belt on!

Fixed

As a final follow up, I purchased a used control module from a member here about a month ago. I finally installed it tonight. Success! The belt is working normally now. Thanks for everyone's help. Bill Z

Can you please give some detail where the module is and how to replace it? My seat belts are disconnected, and when I plug them back on the light and sound indicator goes off. Thanks.

Module is in the trunk under the rear wiper. Remove the trunk plastic and its a silver box with two very large wire looms comming out of it.
