take the bellhousing off the old tranny and look at the gears, this will tell you whether or not the diff blew up. the gears should look lightly worn, and might i add, they should all be there. Unlike mine when it blew. If this is the case, your trans is fine just get new gears.

silly question
but did anyone fill the fluid in the front differential after installing
the used trans ? Mileage on an Svx trans is almost irrelevant anymore. Ive seen all types break at various time in their lives. A used one of any age isnt worth paying more then $900 for in my opinion. Less is better if you can get one used for less obviously.
