Help. Throttle Body

I cleaned my throttle body sunday. I took it off cleaned it and put it back together. Now my car idles way too high. It starts at about 2500 rpm idle, then it goes down to 2000, Later it may go down to 1500, but doesn't really stay there. Every now and then, in stop and go traffic it will go down to 1000 or lower on the idle and my check engine light comes on, then when it cools down a bit it kicks back up to 1500 or 2000 and the check engine light goes off. I've checked all the hoses, none of them are cracked. I tried putting clamps on the hoses thinking the fittings might be loose, but that didnt do anything. I've driven it 200+ miles already, mostly freeway though. Can anyone help me or have any ideas?

By any chance did you knock the TPS out of alignment when you took off the throttle body? It is the black thing on the drivers side of the throttle body that has a plug going into it.
Other guess would be a vacuum hose on the intake was knocked off, or a throttle cable is misaligned

I don't think i knocked it out of alignment. I wasn't able to remove the throttle body completely because the cylender that moves my clutch fork was in the way. I did unplug it, but it seems like its in there pretty solid. I called my mechanic and he said it sounds like the temperature sensor, does that seem probable?

Figured I'd follow up on my post. I fixed the problem. I removed the throttle body and cleaned the air control valve thinking something may have cloged it up. Which may also be causeing a similar problem, so Check that too, plus its just good to clean it while your in there. Turns out the previous owner never cleaned the throttle body and when it got dirty all they did was turn the idle screw up. Unfortunatly for me they did not turn the nut around the adjuster so it appeared to be in the stock position, marked with white dye. I found this out by noticing the butterfly valves were about a milimeter off from fully closing. Enough to raise my RPMs but about 1000-1500. Hope this helps someone.
