So these powerchips will not run on the OBD1 ECU's? If this is the case, Can I get an OBD2 in my 92?

Powerchip makes them for all years of the SVX. OBDII ecu will not work in a 92 SVX. I would recommend ECUtune.com stage 1 for your car. Many members here are running stage 1 and are very happy with it. I started this thread for the 96/97 owners as ECUtune has no application for us yet.

DEAD IDEA

Dear Victor,

After speaking with my Lead Programmer in Australia, he informed me that we cannot modify the 96-97 (RD4) control unit. I apologize for the mixup. When we have the product available for your SVX, I will be sure to give you a call.

Kind Regards,

Joel Ayson

Looks like the best year SVX to buy was the 1995. If this big company can't chip our ecu will LAN be able to?

I may just invest in an SAFC-II and be done with it. I'm really not interested in ahving the timing tables on my car messed with. If LAN can come out with a chip that just richened afr to 13.0:1 in the upper rev band (and no richer), I'd be happy... (Subie Sport magazine and the technician at Altered Atmosphere who dyno'd my car also back up this 13.0:1 ratio for max performance)

So can you find out if they can do something for my turbo car? Something custom that can run larger injectors and take full advantage of the turbo?

I just got the same e-mail from Joel...

"Dear Chike,

Thank you for inquiring. My technician tells me that you have the RD4 OBDII compliant control unit. At the moment we are only able to modify the RD1 and RD2 (OBDI 91-95) control units.

I appreciate the time that you have taken to contact us, and when we have software available for the RD4, I will be sure to let you know.

Kind Regards,

Joel Ayson
