"All We'll Drive" RAVE!!!!

In this cynical and overwhelmingly selfish society (IMHO) that we are apparently living in these days, sometimes real craftsmen make themselves known- and should be acknowledged.

A few weeks ago my 97 LSi’s transmission finally gave up the ghost at almost 150,000 miles- leaving me stranded on the side of the road at around 6PM. Having read the great reviews (and the many helpful and informative posts) from the guys at “All We’ll Drive” I gave them a call. I spoke with both Tom and Mike for almost an hour, figuring out what to do, and organizing flatbed transport. By the time my driver got the car to them the next day, it was well after midnight- as he was called away for a multiple car pileup on the Parkway. Tom, Mike and the guys accommodated me and still had somebody at their shop to receive the car! I was totally stranded at the time as I’m selling my other car (hint- an almost PERFECT 1971 240Z!) and was literally stranded until the work was completed. They knew this, and replaced the transmission and had the car ready for me in a couple of days- at a very reasonable price. I guess this is partially what comes with the energy of youth, but also, IMHO, comes from the dedication of true craftsmen who are also dedicated to these special vehicles.

This would already be a happy ending if the story stopped here. Unfortunately due to a nasty pothole, and age too, I blew a ball joint and again found myself stuck on the side of the road with a collapsed wheel- thankfully only a mile form home. Another call to Tom and A DAY LATER he drove well over an hour and a half (each way!) and spent over an hour on the pavement, and in the steadily-developing drizzle, and fixed my car as it stood in my parking lot- after examining photos I sent to him to make sure he had all the proper parts on hand.

I think this kind of phenomenal service is sadly and sorely lacking these days- and deserves the utmost recognition. I’m old enough to remember when almost every craftsman had the same pride in workmanship and dedication to service to perform like this. These days, sadly, it’s seemingly above and beyond the normal call of duty, and I want to applaud "All We’ll Drive" and Tom specifically for 2 jobs well done. Needless to say, they will have all of my business from here on in- and there is a lot of work yet to be done on my old gal- even though they’re well over 70 miles away.

Thanks again Tom!

Always glad to hear someone fixing one instead of parting one out. What color is your car?

Awesome to hear. They really are a great bunch of standup guys.

Polo Green. Currently splitting time between Rumson and East Brunswick. And I'm dedicated to preserving her for as long as I can- especially after the amazing performance this past winter- on substandard tires too! And with excellent (and reasonably-priced) mechanics this is much more of a likelihood too. There is still almost nothing to compare to these unique cars!

Work yet to be done-

Oil seals everywhere- she leaks like the Exxon Valdez!
Head gasket- preventative
Water pump- WIAI
A/C recharge/oiling, seals, etc
Exhaust- much work- just about a total rebuild as the car has been a seaside resident since new.
Performance bushings- old ones are oil-soaked and degrading rapidly
New shoes, perhaps new wheels too
Braided sts. steel brake lines- a preference of mine on all cars I drive

and the list goes on and on!
