Took out my Gearbox
Ok, I lost 2nd and D, so it was time to take the devil out and check it out... If it is too costly, I will wait a little bit until my friend (who is traveling to Dubai) can send me a +05" STi gearbox with DCCD instead of my current one (without DCCD) and its related parts (diff, pedals, handle, clutch, etc...).
Took us 4 hours to get the tranny out yesterday. here are the pics: What I am worried about is the reprogramming of that tranny after changing the damaged hardware inside. DO I NEED TO DO THAT???

no need to reprogram anything. Just fix it. Also the 6mt doesn't really matter if it is DCCD controlled or not. The DCCD has no feasable way of being operated properly in an SVX so it is not worth the hassle of finding a new tranny.

No, I just did my research and found that even some Imprezzas cannot fit the system.

Motec do a DCCD controller...it's about $1500AUD, so probably a bit cheaper over there.
That's a stand alone unit. Matt |

does it still operate under automatic mode? Otherwise the DCCD is useless in a street car

The thing is in areas such as Dubai, most of the natives are Princes and they have a lot of money to spend, so they are fascinated by Castles and cars, and they get the BIGGEST engines ever found (20 liters of Gas = $4 , you'd better believe it!!)
So they buy for example Corvettes and they go to tuning shops such as Bin Sulayyem's and they spend +20K on performance parts such as Motec's, turbo's, superchargers, etc... when they crash the car, they just throw it away with all its GOODIES inside into the junk yard... (stupid people)... So my friend is going to dubai on the 7th, I already asked for a 6 speed with DCCD... if he finds it, let it be, if not, he will get me the parts I need... I am also going in December over there... shopping for parts like Motec's are inevitable... resistance is FUTILE
