Angry SVX down for the count?

Last night when was coming home from work. I heard a funny noise when I steered. I'm pissed because just had my power steering fixed a few months ago and had my transmission cooler lines replaced. The sound gets 10 times worse in a few seconds and my car start shifting funny. Sounds like something is grinding. I park it in front of my apartment an see fluid all over the ground. I get back in the car and switch the transmision from park to reverse and drive and it revs up and sounds messed up. Taking my car to the dealer this mourning my power steering went completely out and my car wouldn't go over 30mph, Plus its smoking from somewhere. Anybody have any idea what could be wrong? Maybe the transmission cooler line busted again? But that shouldn't affect the steering? I'm sure the dealer will be calling later today with some outrageous price on something.

Could be a number of things: Clamps on return line to PS pump loose, causing cavitation and fluid leakage; Busted return hose; PS cooler lines loose or busted; failure to replace o-ring between pump and reservoir causing leakage and cavitation. You said they just replaced it? Also, if they didn't replace the clamps, the "old style" clamps will likely fail. They'll need to replace the old clamps with the "new style" clamp. Good luck!

Thumbs up Steering pump lines

Ey man you were right it was some lines for a steering pump or something. Im just happy it only cost $100, I just spend $320 last month. With repairs and my high car note, I'll never be able to mod it like I want to.

Is this the same place that fixed your PS in the first place? I'd tell them to go "whistle" for their hundred bucks.

steering

I tried but they looked back in the records and said that it wasn't that exact part that they replaced. This is my 3rd visit for the steering. After they fixed it the first time,, it went complety out on the highway a week later and I almost wrecked. It wasn't a nice scene we I went back to the dealership.

Angry Dealer

I would tell the dealer to eat it. If he replaced the whole thing it should be covered. Thats BS man. Sorry, just hate to see people get taken andvantage of.
