broken panel under spare, h2o

I have water in my trunk and the panel under the spare tire has several cracks, I don't know if that is the cause of the water, but does anyone know what the panel is called or it's part number?

Check your trunk lid seal.. Some people go to the extent of drilling a hole in the floor beneath the spare. BUT BE CAREFUL OF THE GAS TANK!!!

Is the rubber gromet in place below the spare? If so your rear tail lights are probably leaking and need to be sealed. Pull off a rear light look at the rubber gasket and apply a small bead all the way around on the rubber gasket and reinstall right away. Of course make sure the gasket is clean and dry as well as the body of the car.

The rubber circle thing is there, but under that there's a big (foot-long) crack.

Funny story about the spare in ice, that must've been a pain to get out.

- trunk lid seal
- power antenna drain hose
- sunroof drain hoses
- taillight seals

(I believe they can all leak into the trunk)

don't forget rear washer sprayer hose...
not that it would be water, and it would be noticable, but it ould cause liquid in the trunk...

(i had this problem on my obs) the hose cracked and i sprayed the washer and fluid started dripping down from the joint in the hatch and the roof into my trunk...
i fixed it but it was scary at first
