Knock sensor lead to ECU: color code/connector??
I have Fast Freddy's knock detector, and would like to install it asap but still don't know which of the leads to tie to the trigger wire from the stock knock sensor.
This is, by the way, a very nice little package with a monster LED. Anyone? Last edited by Henry; 03-25-2001 at 10:28 PM. |

Do you mean knock sensor or O2 sensor wiring?
Each knock sensor only has 1 wire to the ECU, the other is to ground. It's late now, maybe I just don't understand the question. Are you asking about the SVX or Fast Freddy wiring?

Whoops! It's the *knock* sensor lead!
What I need is the color code and connector for the "trigger" lead from the knock sensor, at the ECU.
Fast Freddy's instructions are to use that lead, +12V, and ground... Also, does anyone know whether the two knock sensors have perfectly equal priority in the ECU? Henry |

I gotcha
The connection at the ECU is:
terminal 6 - signal for the left side (knock sensor 2) terminal 5 - signal for the right side (knock sensor 1) terminal 4 - sealed (for both) These are both in the B61 connector on the ECU I'm not sure what sealed means here, but there is only one wire to the sensor, the other is to ground, which may be what they mean by sealed ???? Reference: Section 2-7 figure 69 of the service manual fig. 40 for the ECU layout You should be able to connect this at the sensor end as well, but I'm not sure what is more convenient for the LED installation Of course if your car starts on fire, blows up, etc... don't blame me :\
