If indeed the rear diff is what caught fire (that's pretty toasty) nothing you do to the AWD will help you. You see, the problem would be with the rear diff and not the AWD. The AWD has absolutely nothing to do with the rear diff burning up.

It's cheaper to sell the car and buy a bicycle. Otherwise fix the car properly, don't try putting a band-aid on it.
