seriously, i only like WRX's in silver (or black with the JDM HID headlights) - the "bugeyes" don't seem as prominent with these. you might change your opinion if you go take one for a drive - i love my SVX, but the WRX is many times more fun to drive. they are a poor man's Porsche Carrera 4, but with more room. i am anxiously awaiting the Legacy B4 - i like the STi and B11S's specs, but i think the B4 is much better looking. PLEASE SUBARU, DON"T SCREW UP THE LEGACY'S LOOKS, TOO!!!!

You are right Alan.

I don't know if I am in a minority here, but I happen to think the majority of recent Subaru models are well designed, well proportioned and generally handsome looking. I particularly like the Legacy and Legacy estates, but Imprezas since the early 90s, even the estate versions, have a balance to the design.

However, the search for a corporate look that RSK mentions led them to put stupid headlights on the current WRX, which is a neat little car otherwise. It can also drive rings around the SVX with the right engine.

Back in the 80s, their cars were slabsided and dull, but were great workhorses, the build and engineering was good.

I take off my hat to their courage in designing the new coupe, having had their fingers burned trying to sell the SVX. Being a concept car, they may listen to criticism, and tidy up the front intake before production, hopefully they will. I reckon it is near perfect as it is, and will sell well if the price is right.

found this Photochopped B11S on a WRX forum - i wish i was this good at PS! anyways, it looks better than the 'Jimmy Durante' concept.

Good job Alan.

Interesting they also think the nose must go.

Silver paint v pearlie aside, the new nose is too Legacy, does not have the corporate signature the new manager is trying for with the show model Orifice.

Hope Fuji are listening to all this reaction, in other media they would pay dearly for the privilege.

If they opt to make it with 400 hp and AWD, fix the nose and sell it at the right price, their problem will be supply, meeting the demand.

The Nissan, Mazda and Toyota equivalents are RWD only, the nearest rival Mitsubishi doesn't have a big 4WD coupe anymore, and which of you children can remember when Audi won the last World Rally Championship?

That's right!! If the price is right, this is the car in which I would like to bring my kids to the school concert.

Twenty one inch wheels!! Start saving up for rubber.

Motorshow Geneva

Hi folks

Puh, how much postings in this thread

As I see, there are now a lot of pictures in this post available, so I don't put again to much inside.

Last Saturday I was at the Geneva Motor Show and did around 20 pictures of the concept car.

I must tell you, the car looks in real again much more better then on every picture. It looks wonderful, very beautyful, perfect, brilliant I don't know more words. They have to build this car.

Only the look of the front grill (air intake) the must change, looks littlebit cheap.

I talked also with one from Subaru Switzerland, he said, the reactions are very good. Chance for come on market 50/50, important will be the reactions from you in USA. So, send to Subaru millions of emails

Hi Kusi

Thanks for the feedback. I have searched the web, and the vast majority of photos shown are from the Fuji press release.

If one or two of yours show aspects of the car not previously seen, please post them to your locker, I for one would love to see more.

Thanks again

Joe

Like it Larry.

Note that Kusi says it is more impressive in the flesh than the photos, except for the nose, which looks "cheap".

Just reminded me of what the Orifice looks like. Large super-economy size ring-pull for a beer can.

Homer Simpson will be the first in the States to have his name down for one.

Great quality pics.

Thanks Kusi.

Would have loved to see a shot of inside the boot.

Joe

{Notice the wheels are left and right hand like ours. Wonder if they have them all on backways?? }

G'day everyone.

Made some scanning, available in my locker under pics/B11S/Geneva Brossure

The car is out of the question very impressive. It has a lot of space even in the trunk and at the exhibition there was a good chance to compare the suicide doors with the ones from RX-8: huge difference. (well, the cars aren't the same size either)

Personally, I think in real life the front appears less Alfa Romeo-like (in fact, I like it very much) and that bump on the hood which continues on the dash inside the car is a very remarkable design element. I'd like to see it in the production car as well. Oh, one more thing: they shouldn't change the roof either, it's a very cool idea!

Hope you guys will have a chance to see the concept live very soon.

Cheers, RSK

Hi RSK

Thanks for the scans. Great shots, and pleased to see the boot open.

The brochure is pretty effusive, and looks like they are heading in this design direction.

I agree about the roof and the bonnet ridge, didn't notice it is continued through to the dash, that's cool.

Still don't like the air intake [the beer-can ring-pull] but I must admit I tolerate it more than when first seen.

I still think it is ugly and they could do better.

If they bring this to the UK to a motor show, I am going to see it.

Thanks again

Joe

At the beginning I've found the tire sizes a little extreme (they're bigger than those on a Vanquish) but now that I've seen it I must say they suit the car quite well. Tho, it will be a real pleasure to buy new sets every time when needed

In the UK Birmingham will be the next show, I guess... right?

Glad you like the humour.

It just occurred to me that certain sardine cans are opened with ring-pulls also. Kinda makes a sardine tin of the whole flat bonnet area.

Maybe if we slag it enough, they will take off the unreality spectacles, see it for what it is, and fix it.

I think the wheels look brilliant, but in Ireland with our potholes, it would be more sensible to run 19" wheels and taller rubber. You would puncture one tyre a week here, never get to actually wear a set out!

I think you are right about Birmingham. If it's there, I'll be there.

BTW, this week's Auto Express carries the Fuji press shots, with a lead article quoting Big Names in Fuji, and saying this is the "Official" face of the new Impreza.

Bull$h*t. This is the replacement SVX

B [big boxer coupe] 11[#2] S[sports]

But if calling it an Impreza coupe gets it built and sold, I will happily go along with whatever they want to name it!!
