If you're a "city kid", HK is the place to be. Busy busy busy.

It's a nice city in terms of what's available to do for entertainment, but comparing the people is a different story. It's unfortunate that most people there won't give you the time of day, and many people there value money much more than friends or relatives, even their own mother and father.

I can't imagine living there anymore, just because of the corrupt attitude that most people have. Sad, but true.

Anyhoo, as much as I am a "city kid", there's nothing like being in the middle of nowhere for a couple of days.

Trying to fit both trips into the schedule, will see what happens...

"We'll double over backwards to make you feel at home!"

"Hey Barb, I just got another call from that Sex Club guy down in Summers County. You won't BELIEVE what he wants now!"

"I'm afraid to ask!"

"He says some guy and his wife are coming to that club meeting up here in October, and he wants him to not be homesick for the "big city".

"So?"

Get this...he wants skyline decals applied to the windows of this guy's room, so when he looks out he sees big buildings!"

"You're kidding me!"

"No, and that aint the half of it....he wants a tape player in the room with traffic sounds...you know, ...sirens and horns and stuff...."

"You are pulling my leg girl!!!"

"No...listen...and he wants the TV in the room to be set for one of those Big Apple TV stations....and wants us all to practice saying "hello" like they do in Jersey...

"Cows say "hello"?"

"No silly, the STATE....he says he doesn't know HOW they say it in Delaware, but figures it must be close..."

"Does this guy really expect us to do all this?"

"Yeah, and he says that they had BETTER be satisfied. The Delaware guy has some relative named Lorenzo or something, and he is not the kinda guy who likes his relatives to be unhappy....you know, just like in the movies!"

"Darlene honey, I think its time we got out of the state park business and went into something a little less stressful with a better breed of customer..."

"Barb you are SO right....this county has been needing a massage parlor for a long time!"

CANAAN VALLEY MEET/ROOM UPDATE

I called Cannan Valley resort again today and spoke with Joan at reservations.

She has definitely 8 rooms reserved (Randy ,Jerry, Harry, Larry, Bill, John, Ron, and Don) and 7 still available

I convinced her to let us have all the rooms in the same building and hopefully the same floor. She said that she could do that without too much problem.

Thanks to Aredub for the analogy of making dinner reservations for 15 people at a restaurant and when you get there they seat you at different tables throughout the restaurant. I used this same logic on her and it was successful

Only 7 rooms left. C'mon guys, we don't want Don's firstborn to be sacraficed. Get those reservations in there!

<Whot's wit dis Joisey stuff ? I thought dat I told ya that I'm from "da city">

Hey, the TV stations wll be New York!

It's just easier to type "Jersey" than "New Yorker" or something...
My wife is from Binghamton, and doesn't sound AT ALL like the city, but her brother Bill sounds like he is straight from the Bronx.. Don

Down on the reservation...

John, thanks heaps for staying on top of the folks at Canaan. Seems like we have more rooms open than they first told you....not counting Randy and Shari's treehouse

Keeping the rooms together was what I had asked for early on, then I guess they drifted away from the idea.

Jean and I were going up there this weekend, to scout the area, but we decided not to go when we talked it over last night...we were just too bushed from our busy week just finished. But I do plan to get up there before the meet. There are many beautiful natural attracting VERY close to the park, and if we all pray for good weather, this could be both relaxing AND educational.

Thanks again for your help....PLEASE RESERVE YOUR ROOMS QUICKLY FOLKS! Don

With everyone mistakenly calling us the S-E-X Club, maybe we should have t-shirts made up with "SVXY" imprinted on them.

Don,

If you bring the handcuffs, should I bring a big spoon, so Aredub
can show us how to dismount a tire from the rim, among other things?

Spoon river....wider than a mile...

I feel I missed something....the spoon and rim act that is.

That idea about the "SVXY" T-shirts sounds interesting! Not promising anything of course, but what is everyones t-shirt size?

Please respond with T-shirt sizes all you Canaan-ites!

By the way, all you that are holding out with your reservations, the date after which I will have to pay for unused rooms is a month prior to the meet....which is the 19th of this month. After that, I will have to cancel all the rooms not taken. Anyone coming on board after that will pay full Fall fare...IF you can get a room. Just thought I'd let you know... Don

I've been hanging on and hanging on, but the more I hang the less it looks like I'll be at Snowshoe. Time just will not permit.
Have a great time.

T-Shirts,

XL for me, unforunately.
Medium for the Beautiful Naviguesser.

I have been dieting and lost about 26 lbs. in the last 6 mos.
However, I wish that they would make Slim Fast taste like a pizza rather than a chocolate or vanilla shake.
