Lights always on & a window never works

Does anyone have any idea why my SVX's 'side' lights won't switch off and what I can do to fix the problem..I'm having to remove the fuse at present!

Also, left side window won't budge. How do I check whether it's a fuse, the switch, or the motor?

Otherwise I'm off to a dealer, via the Bank!

As for the light, there is a parking light swith. It might be pressed.

As for the windows, I recommand opening the door and unplugping the motor and powering up the motor using +/- 12V. +12v will bring it up, -12v will roll it down. If that is the case, your motor works and you need a new switch. The main switch that normally that goes south is the main combo switch by the driver. Clean it up see if that helps.

Check my locker/website for a how to.

Interesting. I don't want to insult your intellegence here (mainly because I learned the hard way), have you accidentally pressed the parking light switch with your knee? Check that first. (<--- Typed this before I read Lwin's response ) Then, amazing as it may seem, the earlier SVXes had a feature that turned on the parking lights when the battery in the security remote fob was low (that feature was upgraded out of the USDM cars in May of 93 or 94. Perhaps you still have that feature. I'll check just exactly what the manual says, later.

As for the window, are you getting ANY noise from it, at all? Or, is it just totally inop? Give us a few more details.

I also had a bad master window switch. When the master cluster goes bad, neither the master, or the passenger side switch will cause the window the work.

I'v had many people with Loyals and Legacys with marker lites that won't shut off, when I turn the switch off for them they usually say, I had no idea that was there. Usually accurs after cleaning the interior.

bad cluster

i bought my svx with a bad cluster switch. the driver window would not go down, but all the rest would. got a new switch from liberty subaru, the driver would work, but the passenger would not. pissed me off. when the driver side did not work, no sounds came from the motor when pressed. when the passenger side did not work, a very faint click could be heard when you put your head near the passenger door. got another 2 switches. one from another car, and a new one from liberty subaru that was brand new. then it worked. doubt your motor went bad. if not switch, then regulator. other than that, nothing much left to change.
