Oil Leak
I have a 95 SVX that is dripping oil. From where, I cant tell? (valve covers?)But after a drive, it will be smoking from it dripping onto the exhaust pipe below exhaust manifold(driverside). Is this a normal SVX problem?

It very well could be your valve covers. The best way to find it is to clean off all the dirt and gunk and then look for the oil leak. If your car is 10 yrs old then the valve cover gasket are most likely the problem. However it could be the front crank and cam shaft seals also. Best to clean and look for leaks.

Mine was smoking from dripping oil when I first got it. I could swear that I smelled engine oil, but, when it took it in to have it looked at, the techs found that the tranny cooler line was leaking and dripping tranny fluid onto the exhaust. Those rubber lines have a way of getting brittle due to extreme heat. On the 92's they used a clamp that did not hold up well. You might check the clamps also and replace with worm gear clamps as opposed to the wire clamps (if that's what they used on the '95's). Just a thought.

When mine was leaking, it was the Rear main seal. I would recommend having a qualified tech take a look at the car. I'm sure he/she could diagnose it better than us (as we have not seen the car.)

Could it be power steering fuild? This seems to be a common problem on SVXes.
