brakes overhaull
hello people.
so now, we gonna overhaull and uprgade the SVX's braking. i have buy vented, drilled, sloted discs, whit ceramic pads from R1 concept ( ebay seller, great deal, and very friendly! ) and goodridge avia lines. oh, and dont forget buy DOT 4 brake fluid ( i have use ferrodo one. good parts are more apreciables ) ok lets begin! lift up the car now, lets space pads from discs DO LIKE ME ONLY IF YOU CHANGE PADS AND DISCS!!!! if you keep the disc, be sure do not damage it. now lets unlock caliper. unlock the 2 screw but remove only the lower one. you can remove theses bolt to remove the sliders, clean it an re-grease it. now, open hood, and open brake tank.
as u can see, it's full. so use someting to remove fluid from it ( plastic bottle cap is a nice choice ) and discard fluid!!!! now compress the piston. CARREFULL!!!! do it slowly and use your brain! dont damage the piston or the seal! now remove 2 bolts from the caliper braket. move the assy clear of the area. |

now you can remove the disc.
dont forget to unlock the park brake! oh, and if it's sticked, grab a big part of wood and hit the disc from bellow the car. instal new disc. instal the caliper bracket. and pads tight caliper bracket and caliper bolts |

ok, now lets changes lines.
remove both of the line's brackets ( 2 parts ) disconnect line. look out of fluid! it's not good for health and nature! use something to get the fluid and discard it proprely! now remove the clamp remove the old line. |

install the new line.
and install clamp. connect the new line, and install lines bracket. use brake cleaner do clean all the aera. do that on all brakes. when the car is on her wheel, start engine, and brake few times. now stop the engine, fill the brake tank at full. and now do your brake draining/flunshing as usual. have a nice ... brake! |

Why have you gone from a ventilated rear disc to a solid one? Is this not a backward step?

nice write up! you might want to edit it to include the torque setting for the bolts and the fact that you should re-grease the slider bolts

I'm going to be doing the brakes in the next few weeks (school time permitting) and this will come in super handy. Couple questions: is changing the brake lines necessary? or optional depending on the condition they're in. What type of brake pads and rotors to use and what all tools are necessary? Also, how much brake fluid does the SVX take?

I would like to know more about that rear vented disc, is that only available in other markets? USDM market here.
