Still would like to see a more central to the west coast meet annually as well, to draw on the strong NW contingent as well as the growing SoCal group.

Re: So Cal meet is ON!
I realise distance is quite literally a bigger thing in the US than it is in Ireland. Even so it would be good to support the So Cal guys because of the museums and the event.
Use the Museum meet as a springboard to organise a more central West Coast event for future use. Joe

The museum meet sounds fantastic and I hope to see it become an annual event - one that I WILL attend if that becomes the case, at the very least when I relocate to CA. I just meant like you said, that it also becomes a springboard to a more centrally located All-West Coast version of Reading, in addition. Even if it's just a 2nd CA meet sometime in summer (the museum meet being in April) and moved up 8 hours to the San Francisco area or something. Still a long haul for folks in BC or WA, but 8 hours closer nonetheless. But first things first. Looking forward to seeing great participation in the Southern CA museum meet! I know Paul and some others have been working for years to see a big SVX meet in the area. I'd be there myself if I had had a bit more lead time to plan life out.

Re: So Cal meet is ON!
That's probably going to be the case with many, Troy.
As a member from a long way away I was privileged to be a principal organiser with Paul last year for the inaugural So Cal meet! What I meant was those members who do turn up, and others like yourself who would like to but are unable to this time, you guys are the principal people who could take this ball and run with it. You can keep the momentum going, use the event to find and agree a central location and a good timeslot [September?] for setting up the West Coast equivalent of Reading. Keep up the good work. Joe

Re: So Cal meet is ON!
Okay, Joe, the big question here is if we get something big rolling on the West Coast over the next couple of years, which event are you going to make your U.S. debut at - Reading or West Coast?
Probably derailed this thread enough but hopefully anyone on the fence about attending the SoCal Museum meet next month will be inspired by the implications it will bring!

Re: So Cal meet is ON!
Currently the Big! meet for the West Coast is the Dabob meet. That is totally understandable. Earl has his own museum! The SVX museum! To answer your question, difficult. If an Irishman can be swayed by weather, the West Coast would have the inside track. I have seen with my own eyes pictures of otherwise sensible and serious members wearing prophylactic weather gear in Reading! Too much like home! We'll see, Troy.

Re: So Cal meet is ON!
My recent stay in the hospital has kept me from driving, and I've been slow to get back to this, but please, add my Pearlie to the list. It looks as if I'll be able to get behind the wheel again in a few days, so it'll be there as well. And I'm still trying to get the two others who are not on the forum to bring theirs as well. Bah - Falling ill is quick, recovery is slow. I'm working on it. P.
