now, $$$ spent on scheduled and preventative maintenance, that's something different.

Re: My Mercedes SL Story

I thought I'd post some pics of the car now that I've accumulated some. I have the car in "winter mode" now. I have had snow tires fitted and I have installed the aluminum hard top. I did also install a new OEM radiator.

Now you just need to grow yourself a mullet, buy some white pants and borrow one of Earl's Surf shirts and you'll be good to go! LOL

Looks very nice!

I am continually amazed at how nicely the car handles. It has like zero cowl shake or flex. You can't tell it's a convertible. I wish the seat would recline another few degrees. That's my only complaint. I'm sure if I laid off the donuts for a couple of months, though, I could get myself pretty comfy in the car.

Considering it weighs in 2x more a TVR I'd suspect you should be able to delete it out of the car. Recline huh. I have plenty of that. If I put my head back on the headrest I get a lovely view of the sky

How many miles on this SL? How nicely it handles compare to the SVX kind of handling?

Your SVX will look really nice/nicer as well with that background.

its not necessarily a bad thing. You'd come in handy when buying a car

The car has a much better feel than the SVX. It is more solid feeling. Keep in mind, though, that the SL cost more than twice as much as the SVX when it was new.

The SVX will always be my favorite, though.

Yeah. $70 for that piece. I'd have to get two as the new one on that side would make the other one look old and crusty. I'm holding out for some OEM xenon headlights which don't use those trim rings.

Mike

Re: My Mercedes SL Story

Try to locate a set of Euro headlights. They do not come with the plastic contour
