97 LEGACY 4eat

Ok I have come across a really good deal on an 1997 Legacy 4eat with the rear diff included in the price. Infact she said she would give me the rest of the car as the engine doesnt work any longer. I wanted to know if this transmission will work in my 1994 SVX with the OBD1? I know they went to OBD2 in 1995. Will it work with my SVX TCU or would I need the TCU from the Legacy? What is the gear ratio? This is the third transmission I have come across. But this one is 350 bucks. Has 145K on it.

Mostly a bump, but 145k is allot of miles on any auto and close to destruction time. How much do you want to spend on labor for a trans r&r over the next couple of years?

All1996- EARLY 1998 Subaru's with the 2.5 engine.
The Legacy Outback, Legacy Outback Limited, the Legacy SUS, the Legacy GT & GT Limited, the Legacy LSI, the Forester, and the Impreza 2.5 RS.
Just do not buy one with a spin on filter.

Gotta poke my head in here. Having worked on an LSI last week with a DOHC 2.5... thats not the case. There was a 4.11 fitted into it not a 4.44. I would stick to the outbacks
