Codes

hey guys pulled some codes here they are...My q's are Where are they? And how do I fix them?
Code:
28 - Knock sensor #2... Found it unplugged so I think I fixed that.

21 - water temp sensor( I know where that is but I think its the wrong plug plugged into it)
35 - Purge control Inoperative
34 - EGR solenoid Inoperative
24 - Bypass air control Solenoid

I have the intake manifold off but I have no idea what to look for...
Thanks

Some of the ones you listed are the colored (red, black, and blue) sensors attached to the intake manifold. look them up on subaru parts.com

I don't care if those mice move back in and set up an SVX parts salvage business - I am NEVER touching that intake manifold again

Being a newbie I know you are not around long, so there is some excuse for not knowing where to find everything. Asking questions is the easy way, and most of us will give you an answer if we know what you need.

Some will give you a smart answer indicating you should do a search. A lot of these questions have been asked a thousand times by a hundred newbies, and sometimes people get weary of answering the same thing over and over.

Just to show you are willing to do a little bit of research on your own before tackling problems, I'm going to direct you to the How-To section above top right.

Click:

http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/How-To/30340.pdf

This pdf here has pictures, and is in the Engine folder. Make yourself familiar with what is in the How To link. Your original codes question is covered In the How-Tos.

We will be revamping that section with a more intuitive index, but meanwhile there is a wealth of information available, built up over the years.

Use it.

Joe

Thanks Joe for your help.
I have already spent hours researching and running through the archives. I do loads of searches actually and find what I need the majority of the time but I could not find anything that was useful in my current problem. I also learned how to pull the codes and translate the codes from the archive.
I already had a window open on the how-to replace you vac hoses and lines before you sent me that link, but it seems to be unhelpful for there are no hoses hooked up! There is also no references to any of the problem parts I need to seek out...
Hence the creation of my post.

Thanks Jedz, I know where you are coming from.

We admins are aware the search function does not always easily pick out the exact thing you want. That's why I said we are planning to revamp. At present we are looking at other websites to decide which format best presents the information.

Also, when the How-Tos are reclassified, we are hopeful that the new system will show an index, so that at a glance people will find as near to what they want without hours of searching.

We will also be able to insert newly added info sheets into their proper categories to make them easily found.

Stick with us man, we will eventually get it right.

[BTW don't forget to look over on David's [Earthworm] SVX-ipedia. He has lots of info on there, and it is nicely categorised] Click the link on his signature.

So fellas I thought I would keep you posted on the EG33 repair. Gene thanks you sooo much for the diagram I am going to have to replace all my vac lines...crusty, cracked or missing. The Vac diagram they have in the Chilton makes me drool and lowers my IQ into the retardation level... So once again thanks!

So I found out what was wrong with my sensors fellas. It seems the EGR solenoid, BAC solenoid and Purge control solenoid all run on the same power supply wire. The wire is suppose to be connected to the SVX's main relay.. however there is no SVX main relay in my Legacy so the sensors are Inoperative over a lack of power. I plan on getting those things hooked back up and ready to roll.... wow what a day!

that diagram is also tacked onto the underside of your hood... quick handy reference while your digging around in there. prepare to replace EVERY vacuum hose there is, they are $8 a pop but better to have them on hand then have your manifold torn off while your waiting 8 weeks for Subaru to deliver them.

Glad you got to the bottom of it and got her cookin' fellas

The '94 Legacy is a classic shape and a very handy size for a fast car. A friend in England has a beautiful grey one. He has a special Australian engine in it, a stroked version of the EJ22, about 2.4 litres I think. He has a humongous big turbo on it and air/air intercooler discreetly in the front bumper [as opposed to the too-small air-water one they come with].

The car is an animal, but it is very suave in my opinion, a really nice piece of kit.
I'm expecting yours to be pretty special. Post pics.

Joe
