Loose ground wire
On my '92 LS-L there's a ground wire connected to the firewall that is hanging free. Parts diagrams show the wire connected to a mating connector coming from the transmission. I can't find any loose wire on my transmission. Can anyone tell me where on the transmission it is suppose to be terminated?
This photo shows the wire hanging loose. This view is looking down on the TC bell housing with the black air-intake removed from the throttle body and the vent tubes removed from the transmission.

well, its been a day and 422 people have read your post. i'll be the first to throw out a comment. that connector looks like the one that connects to the starter. i don't have the wiring harness in my SVX, otherwise i would check it out for you. look on the rear part of your starter, next to the transmission. there should be a flat metal tab this connector goes to. hope this helps.

It's a ground, The other end is supposed to attach to the body of the transmission somewhere, I'm not sure where. I think it uses one of the bolts that holds the pitch mount bracket in place??
I'm guessing your trans was swapped at some point? As long as the other grounds are in good shape it won't cause any issues. Still it would be a good idea to replace it with one wire from the trans to the spot that it attaches or make up a new 1/2 section, I'm thinking that a standard spade crimp connector will fit.

I think you are right Dave. My transmission was rebuilt last November right before I bought the car. It has a very slight slip, or sluggish shift from 2 to 3. I'm just trying to close all possible loopholes here before I have to bite the bullet and either buy a new TPS, or take it in to get the break band adjusted. I tried doing the adjustment myself but my old hands can't get enough leverage in that small gap.
Thanks
