I'm thinking a 3.5-3.6 liter engine with around 9.5:1 compression might be a nice "winter project" (okay, so custom pistons to get the compression back up is probably in the cards..)

¼” stroker
If you offset the crankpin 1/8”, you increase the stroke ¼”
2.95” stroke plus 0.25” = 3.20”
3.815 bore (R = 1.9075)
SA = 11.430851 X 3.20=36.578723 per cylinder CID X6 = 219.47233 Total CID

3.815 + 0.020 = 3.835 (R=1.9175)
SA = 11.551017 X 3.20=36.963254 per cylinder CID
X6 = 221.77952 Total CID
221.77952 CID = 3634.9663 CCs

The comp ratio would go to 10.9:1, and the piston would punch a 1/8" hole in the head. You would need shorter rods, or the pin lowered in the piston.

Harvey.

I just did the math,
I am actually considering a "big block" 3.3/3.75 H6.....
All We need is more time, and more money...

Can you cc the ej22 turbo head please? Might as well do the svx head while you are at it too, if you could. I've got a set of ej22 turbo pistons on the way for my svx engine build and I'll make accurate comparative measurements of the pistons. If you cc the heads we can attack the measurement issue from both sides and presumably come up with the same answers.

No problem. I could cc the 2.2 turbo head but i cant cc the svx heads. can enyone else contribute to this cause? I dont want to take the eg33 apart yet i want to run it n/a for a while till i build a turbo 3.3 block which i still havent purchased yet.

Yes the missing link Michael, I've worked the clearance vol, can guess the head gasket vol, just don't know how much of the clearance vol is taken by the piston. We will know the full story with the chamber vol.

OK smear a bit of vasoliene over the face of the head, put a piece of perspec with a 1/4" hole in the center over the combustion chamber, and fill the chamber through the hole with a very light oil,from a graduated flask. It will take about 70ml, so start with a full 100ml flask. See how much is left in the flask when the chamber is full.

We thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.

Harvey.

Maybe you mistook the tone of what I was saying? I'm not really in the habit of making those kinds of comments. I have gotten frustrated and annoyed with things that have come up in my threads at times but it usually takes a good deal of persistence to push me over the edge and into unpoliteness. My appologies none the less, whatever it was.

You may want to consider sending that bracket to Tom. Then you'd be helping him rather than me.

How much did they run you? That will be a major labor bill unless you do the work yourself!

Here's something you obviously dont know. Unless you are sleeving your motor you can forget about 3.6-3.8 displacement. The eg33 block can only be bored out to .50 mm as per factory manual, any more than that and the cylinder walls will get to thin. So let me do the math for you, max bore size you can get the motor to is 97.395 x 75 bore is 3.353cc which is not much difference from the stock 3.318. I hope you havent payed yet lol.
