O2 sensors....???

first off were the hell are these bad boys located??? second do you recommend getting the universal O2 sensos and take the connectore off the old one and put it on the new one....or do you trust the OE version O2 sensors....it dosent seem that hard to do but please correct me if im wrong...i plan on doing this myself i just dont know were they are located...its a 97, also is it hard to splice them together or take the old connector off the old o2 sensor and wire it to the new o2 sensor, i wanna know if i can do this myself because firestone wants to charge 100 bucks and i dont have that kind of money...
