@^(*^!@ $^%@& !!!!!

So, heh...the Tancred Chronicles Continue,
So, I let my mom take my other SVX that just had 1k in radiator, water pump work because her car just gets better gas mileage, so i leave my phone in the car all day, I come back to 17 missed calls.....oh you all know what 17 missed calls mean....OH YEAH SVX PROBLEMS!

It would appear that in their haste to finish my Radiator and water pump, they used my old radiator hoses, because new ones would take 7 days to order, so..my car has new found WATER PRESSURE and it decides to weep all over the parking lot at my mom's work, so in the rain, I get to change some radiator hoses...but alas, subaru doesnt have them in stock, no...neither does checker, or Pep boys, or the other 2 suby stealerships.....I had to take my hoses in and buy some that came close. So hoses are ordered and I guess this weekend along with EGR crap, its gonna be change the radiator hoses.....SUBARU I SMITE THEEEEE!

I hear ya man. My car is starting to fall apart. I really don't feel like listing off all the things that are wrong with my car because it'll remind me of all the money that will be spent soon.

1. Rotors and brakes (this weekend hopefully)
2. Throttle position sensor
3. Wheel bearings and hubs
4. CV Axles
5. Struts and springs
6. My shifter- (won't release in park, i have to push the "Help Me" button)
7. Various squeaks all over the car.
8. What ever decides to go wrong next.

Keith

Awhile back I phoned the local O'Reilly auto parts shop to price radiator hoses for my car (to compare to some on eBay) and they had 'em in stock; one of each, as I recall. Aftermarket, of course; maybe even cut-to-fit or some such, but still... SVX hoses, on the shelf in a tiny north Georgia town where most folks wouldn't know a Subaru if one snuck-up and bit them in the backside. And none in Salt Lake? Crazy.

I feel your pains guys. I just got my tranny flushed back in june and something told me to check the fluid yesterday. I did and it was light brown with pink mixed in...more on the pinkish side but you could tell theres some brown in. So i decided to park it in the garage and drive my moms car untill i can get enough money to get the fluid changed. I just ordered my cooler from summit racing and i should be able to get it installed next week. Bout 90 bucks for the fluid change...55 for the cooler. Wallet is drained once again.

That's one thing to call it. I prefer to call it what it is - a complicated, low-production older car. They're only going to become less and less practical as daily drivers. So those of you who keep thinking that the end is in sight, and the next major repair is the last one for awhile...I'm sorry you're having those problems and that they're a burden for you, but things are only going to get worse, man.

You're right, but I'm stubborn. And I enjoy my SVX like no other car.

I absolutely agree - I love this car.

But I also decided a couple years ago that it would never be my daily driver again. If i want to enjoy this car for years to come and not be ruined financially by the experience, I have to preserve it.

Yeah, I read that. I figure another two or three years, then I may step-up to a Suby built in the current century for grocery-getting. Thusfar, I have zero reliability complaints to relate.

(Shut up, shut-up, shut-up...)

Mine proved very reliable, as well. That made it hard to put it away.
