Talking Re: boot

What? No Ctrl Alt Del buttons on your dash?

Sounds a lot like you have not had the latest Microsoft patch for our OBD software. You have to get it.

When any of the dash lights signals a problem, you stop the car, turn off the ignition, get out of the car and lock the doors.

When you get back in and start it up again, it will have rebooted, and all your problems will go away.

You may of course, have to spend a week or two onto the network support department at premium rates to get the software working as it should.

But you only have to do this every month or so.

Small price to pay for peace of mind.

Joe

Smile Problem Solved

Checked the trouble codes and got an MAF error. A trip to the recycler, and $50 later - problem solved. No more stalling. All is right with the world again.

Good news!

Glad you're sorted.

Mine has stopped throwing codes just for tightening up the rubber tubes at the intake, and the fuel pressure regulator.

And, of course, stopped stopping as well.

Joe

engine stalls if not warmed up first

I spoke of this problem earlier but still haven't gotten it fixed. first off. the only code that I get is for the left knock sensor, but what is happening is, the car will start up easily when cold and if I let it sit and idle for a few minutes, not even up to opperating temp, it will run fine but if I start it and try to take off then, it will go a ways, maybe a mile but usually less and will lose power and die, it will start back up but has to crank a long while and then it runs very rough and even seems to put out smoke and then after a short while of rough running, it will finely start running right as if nothing were wrong at all. It has been getting worse with the cooler weather by that I mean it has to sit and run longer,, it seems to start at a normal idle and with in a couple of minutes it will rev up some,, not a lot and after another minute or so the idle will drop back down to normal. I have replaced the coolant temp sensor twice and I didn't notice a lot of difference but when I did that it was only doing this rarely but now it is everytime I start it. I mentioned the knock sensor, I don't see how that would be causing this particular problem although I know it needs replaced. I have read a lot of posts and a lot of them mention the MAF sensor I really haven't done any checking on that yet but the other problems I have been reading about on here aren't exactly the same as mine.. so if anyone has any ideas. I would appreciate the help.. when my remote starter works it isn't so big of a problem but it also only works when it wants to but that is another story. Thanks. Vernon

Are you getting any ECU codes? My bet is on the MAF.
