No question.

I can supply 2 sets of stock mounts to get you started. I'd like to get 1 back- you can keep the other and pass it on.

I'm all for it but I have no mount to send you..
It's still on the car.

If I wasn't going out of town this weekend I would probably have the mount for you....

Even if I make a get me by mount and am unable to make a good mount I will then definitely get your mount, not much help right now on this. grrrrrr

I will have to see what I can do

Greatly appreciated Subafreak that your willing to do this for everyone that wants a good xmember.

Subafreak:

If I send you the 2, could you make one for me and one for Astralbody, then get her mount when she pulls it for the 3rd?

You'd be 1 ahead, and could simply get a "core" trade in from each "customer"

Would that work?

This might be a good time for me to chime in. I'm smack in the middle swapping a 5MT into my SVX. Well, actually my mechanic is smack in the middle of it. :-) I bought the Small Car 5MT swap kit, and we're using those parts where it is useful. We've both decided that the Small Car tranny x-member solution is not very good (as many others have also decided). My mechanic is very good with metal working, and he's working on a x-member design that will utilize the 4EAT x-member, and not require any drilling into the body of the car. The x-member will bolt to the front suspension as it does with Subafreak's design, and it will also bolt to the 4EAT x-member. The x-member will also clear the stock cats. My mechanic expects that his solution will be very stout. He should have mine done within a week. If you folks are interested, he can make up some extra sets for you folks. Sorry, he doesn't have an idea of the price yet. Let me know if you are interested.

I am interested.

Subafreak, If I send you the crossmember, front bar and 5 speed mount along with the money, could I pick it up at Reading???

This will clear the stock exhaust and allow installation of the heat sheilds, right?

Doug

Your killing me. I suppose if you sent me all the stuff right now I could do everything in my power to have it ready to bring to Reading.

Just so you know what it would involve:

Push in spare car.

Remove 4EAT.

Bolt up spare 5 speed.

make X-member.

Ok so it dosn't seem like much after all. But It's only like 3 weeks or so till Reading and I still have to get my car ready. Like redesign stereo system so I could acctually put a X-member in the trunk If you want to devote to sending the parts then I'll bring you a X-member. I must be crazy.

Hope I didn't get you in trouble, Subafreak.

Thanks for your efforts.

If you need mounts, etc. let me know. I can get you the parts so you have them, and just let them sit for a while 'till your schedule permits.

I'll be patient.

Let me know.

Thanks!

Ok, OK, if anything this has motivated me to finish bolting together my 5 speed that I blew fifth gear out of right after Reading last year, so that I can use it to make the X-members.

I could probly hammer out a few X-members in a weekend pretty quick so now that Mohrds has motivated me to get one done I guess anyone else that wants one before or for Reading to let me know and get your parts to me right now.

Just to make it clear I will need from you.

1.Stock tranny mount.

2.The peice of the 5 speed mount that acctually bolts to the tranny mount.

3. The two brackets that bolt to the rear of the front subframe. (you will have to support the sub frame when you remove these but you will be able to put the big bolt back in to hold the subframe wile you wait.)

Going price right now is around $75 dollerish, but open to barter.

So if you want let me know and I'll tell you where to sent the parts.

Count me in, Subafreak.

I do not need to have it for Reading (if that helps), but I will need it shortly after.

I need to order the 5-speed mount, but I've got the rest. I'll get that order in tomorrow.

I probably can't pull these parts until after April 4th- I'm all tied up getting ready for the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge.

Do you need a 2nd set of the stock parts? I could actually get you 2 of the stock crossmembers and brackets, if it is helpful.

Thanks,

-P^uL

The more parts to build with the better.

Cool. Are you going to Reading anyway? If so you could maybe bring the parts to give me there.

Hay Doug do you still really want to get this at Reading?
