Nice SVX. Great miles on her. I'm kinda curious what bomb Kelli is about to drop on you. You go easy on him Kelli!

Alright kelli - I can deal with that. He told me it was in an accident so I was kinda expecting to hear, "wow, that car was totalled before, want to see the pics?!" But it seems to be in fine shape.

I put it on the lift with my brother and here's what we say:

-The boot on the axle is ripped, needs a new front passenger axle. A reman isn't that expensive though thank god.

-Looked like there was slight power steering fluid seepage from the rack. My bro said it might be normal, the fluid level is fine and it doesn't look like there's much to worry about.

-An exhaust heat sheild is loose and rattles

-Needs tires

-Needs front brake pads

-I think it needs rear wheel bearings....I heard a slight humming the other day.

....Other than all that, everything else looks fine and doesn't look like there's anything major.

I just found out about the locker thing. I'll start getting it going with pics of those "dash inlays" ........all it is is Wood trim for an SVX. I can still see the factory trim and it's BADLY faded. The overlays actually look pretty good.

I'm installing my car computer, so my dash is somewhat in pieces, but I should be done this week. I'll have some dash pictures for you guys soon!

I did this in my G20 and it worked out lovely, however I definitely can't say the same for the SVX...........it is quite a pain in the ass.

In the G20 I wound up putting the screen, computer, power supply and DVD-ROM in the dash! However, I can't do it with the SVX!!

So as of now I don't have a clue where I'm putting the guts of the system......but I know the screen's going where the radio is so that's what I'm currently working on. What sucks is that there's no lee-way with height.......I like how the radio has a cover so I'm keeping that, however by doing that I'm restricted to using the radio cage as the shell which is quite small.......but I'll figure it out.

I'm using the same computer as I had in the G20; it wasn't the best but it did the job.

Via EIPA Mini-ITX motherboard w/ 800MHz mobile processor
20GB Hard Drive
256MB Ram
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz 5.1 Sound card
Turbo Cool 1U 12V ATX Power Supply

For more info check out the build up here: http://www.g20.net/forum/showthread....&threadid=5621

Wish I had pics to show you but my webserver contract expired and they didn't even ask if I wanted to renew

It also needs new wheels. ANY new wheels. OEM wheels, aftermarket, hell, even stamped steel wheels would look better than those chromy bling things. Blech. Other than that though, looks like a beautiful car! Congrats!

That sounds awesome! I was just conjecturing with a buddy at work if one could build the whole PC into the double-DIN cage in the SVX using a Micro-ITX mobo. It may be possible if you had an external PSU rigged up and hidden elsewhere in the vehicle. I would sacrifice the door then and flush mount the screen into the dash. Would give a larger screen but I can understand why you would want to keep the door if possible. Factory looks and increased security from prying eyes when not in use.

Why the sound card? I thought those boards had 5.1 sound built right into them. I must be wrong on that I guess or maybe only the new ones do. Seems to me that ridding yourself of the external sound card would increase your installation possibilities.

Keep me updated on your progress. I do not live that far from you and would love to see the install (in progress or finished) sometime. I could learn a lot from your experience. It's one of my goals to do the same in mine one day if I can ever get the money to spare for it.
