The more I learn about other peoples kids..
The more I learn about other peoples kids, the MORE I Thank God for MINE!!
A co-worker wanted to know if I could find anything about his 22 year old daughter with my connects. I informed him, as he waited for her to come pick him up after work in his truck, that her licence was suspended in Nov 07 for 'failure to appear' for speeding, 80 in a 65. Then she was suspended again in Feb for the same thing in feb 08 ( 85 in a 65). He then mentioned that I should check a different county. I did. January 31, 08. 95 in a 65, lying to a cop, (driving his truck), suspended,(failure to appear) AND SHE HAD HIS truck TODAY!!! He MUST be brain dead! He asked a cop the other day if she was suspended, he told him that she was. She told him that she was not, so he GAVE here the KEYS again! He's going to lose his house and everything if he doesn't pull his head out of his a$$ and throw that drugged out kid out of his world! I had given him a copy of the document that showed that she is suspended yesterday, but she had the truck again today. As a side note, I checked my 'most likely' child. I even checked the other ones. "Sorry, No item matches your search"..... Sorry, my A$$!! I am so HAPPY!! Not even a speeding ticket! 3 kids over 21, NO entrys! MY kids are NOT part of the problem!! I just Pray that they become part of the 'solution'. PS, The mechanic drove him home. his 'contribution' to the world never bothered to come and pick him up when his shift was over!! I would set my car on FIRE before I gave the keys to an INGRATE like her!

You know, it's not all the kid... I think a large part is the parent. I walk into a store, a parent and their children will be there, the child grossly misbehaving, the parent not doing anything about it...
People say my daughters are the most well-behaved there is. I agree, until they're in their mother's care. At that time, they're spoiled, throw tantrums, and run wild. To be fair, they're also 4 and 5. Still, that tells me that the parent plays a pretty large part. Keep doing the good job you are as a parent, your children, and society, will thank you.

I agree with both of you. If the child does not pay the price for their actions, and own them, then they will continue to do that behavior. One other thought - Until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change, the person will not change their behavior.

Just a related experiance with bad parenting
Ive seen on sevral occasions, small children in a grocery store reaching for apples, oranges, ect, and giving the "Mom, can I?" look. Ive never seen a parent go ahead and toss a few apples in their cart, and once the parent actually yelled at the kid, and got potato chips instead I could only imagine their logic being applied to things like school work, crime, drugs, ect. I, personally, am going the landshark way. Sure, another lil me running around might be cool...but I think the world is overpopulated enough..and If Im hankerin to hang out with a 4 year old, Im sure I could borrow one of my friends kids if I need to
