Well, I'm not clear on what you're looking for because most of the Subaru MT's I know of are AWD (especially on this forum)

I'm curious about your sandrail project, what your plans are, and what you have already completed. The reason I'm interested is that I have a parts '94 SVX w/80k miles that I'm trying to sell. It's a FWD with good motor. I have always thought it'd be a very cool to take this front engine/front drive engine & trans and create a mid engine, RWD, AT sandrail. Lemme know if you're interested in that at all. I'm trying to sell the entire parts car just because I'm sick of having it in my driveway.

I don't care if Subaru says it's STI...it will always be STi to me

You must be a youngin then! Subaru was actually the first Japanese importer of FWD cars and that was back before they had an auto they used.

You can easily make a rear engine car out of at least an auto by switching the gears around and reversing it. My guess is he's doing something similar with a manual

Yea...I'm a youngin...my first Subaru experience was an 80's Brat, followed by a '90 Loyale, then a '96 Legacy, then my '92 SVX, then an '02 Forrester, and now the '06 Impreza. LOL...all 4WD or AWD. But, considering the FWD SVXen, I figured there were probably others

Every model from the ff-1 had a fwd variant through to 96. They drive much better than their 4wd or awd brothers aside from the fwd svx.

Modern pattern the 90-96 Legs and 93-96 Not-so-Impressives.
