Effective Inexpensive AC Coolant!!!

and you do not have to "convert" your AC. When my tranny was rebuilt I experienced the dreaded post rebuild loss of AC due to seal damage incurred when the engine was jostled.

I recharged my AC with a refrigerant that is environmentally safe, inexpensive, (have you priced R12 lately?), and works better than freon! The SVX takes about 22 ozs. of freon. One 6 oz. can of E12a completely charged my system! And it's blowing colder than ever! Go to:

You won't believe how inexpensive 2 cans of E12a and a charging system will be! Less than half the retail cost of freon alone. The E12a works perfectly with your stock AC system. Make sure you get a R12 charging system, recharge the system yourself and save a ton of money.

Is it blowing much colder than before? I converted to two of my
R12s to R134s already before reading this. I was told R12 works better than R134. I can't feel much difference in the SVX but I feel it cools down a bit slower than the R12 in my Mazda. However, I had a test, my air vent still got a 62F from a standstill after 4-5mins in my mazda. Outside almost 100F. At nights, it's ice cold, too cold, so cold.

The only problem I've had was getting the bloody car charged in the first place! I know nothing about AC so when the tech(?), Tanya told me the SVX was a 'low side' charge it really messed me up. The low side is on the cylinder with a little sight glass on the left side facing the engine. They sent me an R134 charging system (A tube with valve at one end that goes in the can of refrigerant and a slip fit on the other that goes into the AC). I could not find a fitting to go in the slip fit AND fit the little schrader valve on the low side. Tech (Randy) insisted that the appropriate fittings are available almost anywhere. Got fittings from Kragen, none worked, then got some at Walmart...none worked. Then in a eureka moment combined with the desperation of a 275 lb man sweating his arse off in 100 degree temps I tested the high side fitting (which is on the metal tube on the drivers side of the engine). The fitting fit! Followed the directions for charging and viola-COLD FREAKIN' AIR!!! Yee Haa!!! Damn that feels good! At least as cold as before if not colder, hard to say as we've been experiencing record heat here. Spent $60 total including shipping and I've still got 5 cans of E12 left! COOL STUFF...

I didn't know anything about AC. Actually an AC tech I consulted gave me basakwards information... no wonder I had such a hard time finding a fitting!
