I had a pair of yellow tops in an altima w/orion xtr2400 and an orion 500, and a high output ohio generators alternator, one battery lasted probably 2 years and died, but the other I still have, its been 5 years, I have had it in probably 6-10 different vehicles, I actually left it in a bronco I just delivered to memphis, 240 miles away, I loved it so much I will be driving back down there to get it, I also bought a redtop from advance auto for my 92 LSL

I can't say for sure but I heard that Optima, a Swedish company now has a partnership with an Altanta, Georga battery recycling company GNB technologies. I have been told that this could be the reason for a rash of less than outstanding batteries. Years ago I had an Optima that I was so impressed with, I recomended it to everyone. In the past 2 years I went through 3 of them. I finally gave up on them and bought a Subaru battery, no problems as of yet.

My Rredtop no longer holds a full charge after some 30 months. It has failed to start the car twice now at roughly 50 degrees.

3 years is the life expectancey of a battery up here anyways.

Optimas are from Interstate. Fact is, just a handful of manufacturers make all the batteries in the entire known universe, thus the difference between brands is generally unremarkable. Marketing. Buy a fresh, mid-priced Everstart from Mall-Wart and be done with it.
