Well unless your motor is weak, go with the rebuild. It seems you guys have a completely different Trans so the best things is to keep it in there and just rebuild it

Ok i need to know wheather a JDM EG33 and Gearbox from a 93 SVX will install into a 92 SVX (aus delivered) perfectly?

I am considering this option as my motor has 280000kms on it and weaps oil from all seals

I need one last piece of advice from you harvey......

Thankyou to all who posted and helped me out in this thread, your inputs have been highly apreciated!!

Cheers,
Jake

I can only imagine that it would bolt up perfectly. The engine should run perfectly. The TCU is another story. I have learned that the Aussie box is much more different than USDM and JDM, much more so than a different Final Drive Ratio. Harvey would be the man to speak to though. If the TCU wiring is the same, It is as simple as swapping TCU and driveshafts. I am not sure if the X-member is the same either.

I told Jake to get the TCU also with the engine and tranny, but I didn't think of the X cross member ... We need the genius' opinion

Will it fit?

As far as I know, It should slot straight in. The only thing that may need fitting up is the wiring, for the No.1 speed sensor. It is driven by the front diff on the JDM trans. On the Aust. it is in the box, should not be a problem to alter the wiring to reach the front diff.

You don't need the TCU or ECU, as the Aust is better, no speed limiter, less emission controls. The tail shaft is the same as is the cross member. Do you know the code number of the box, AA,BA,CA?

All the best Jake.

Harvey.
