Kudo's to Todd for knowing the famed in thier own mind ford "5.0" actually displaced 4.9 litres. The "4.0" exploader motor actually displaces 3.8. I guess ford only likes round numbers.

We hanker after the sort of weather that might make them usable, but not rag-top cars.

I can think of few better automotive things in my mind Joe than driving one of my Mustang V-8 convertibles along the road from Dingle to the Blasket Islands and the Three Sisters. .

Our weather was lovely during that portion of the trip and the memories fresh and clear.

I should as I've owned a bunch of them in a variety of flavors (V-8 and turbocharged 4, auto and manual, hardtop and two types of convertibles). None were greta cars, all were fun cars at the time.

that when the brought out the Fox bodied Mustangs
in 1979, it was the older real 302 5.0
in 81 they badged it as a 5.0, but it was really a 255ci motor
until sometime in 82 they went whats known as the 5.0
Ford std HO motor, ...4.9 to be exact.

1980 and 1981 used the 255 in3 motor with no fender badging. 1982 brought the return of the GT with the (then) HP 5.0 motor which began the modern performance resurgence we are still living today

Dayle, I like the car. Good find. These are quite rare too. Very cool. That should augment your "collection" of rare Mustangs when you park it next to your SVO.

Yes Todd,

On the few High Summer days we get round here, an open car would be nice.

Just the rest of the year might be troublesome!

Even though I am a coupe person at heart, my lottery money would be very tempted by one of those nice BMW 6 series cars. Looks good, goes good!

I can dream I suppose.

Joe
