wheezing heater
My car's heater whistles and wheezes like an old steam radiator when cranking-up on cool mornings. It works fine, and the sound's not really loud enough to be annoying, so I'm not inclined to yank-off the dash or anything, but I was just curious as to whether anyone else has noticed this and/or knows what might be the cause.

Did it do it with the AC on?
I had to replace a fan on my first SVX because the brushes were completly worn away. The fan is pretty easy to get to, right by the left side kick panel. Doug

But it doesn't do this in AC or forced-air modes, regardless of fan speed; only when heating, from a cold start, on AUTO. I'm thinking maybe some air-routing doo-dad down there isn't opening or closing fully.
