AC acting a little flakey
My AC is fine as long as I'm moving. It starts blowing warm air (bad in Florida) when I am stationary. Starts blowing cold shortly after I start moving again. The fan for the condensor is running but I noticed that the compressor is cycling alot.
Maybe just needs a charge? (I hope..I pray...I wish) Anyone recognize this pattern? Randy ii |

ac probs
I had the same symptoms turns out I need a recharge but mine uses R-12 it's a 92 so you either have to get it converted to R-34 costs about $200. or try to find R-12 which is expensive and if you have a leak it can get really pricey.

My AC did something very similar. It got to the point where it wouldn't work at all if it was over 80 outside. I thought it was a sensor telling the car to shut the AC off, but it turned out to be something really simple. I had to pull the radiator out for something unrelated, and I found that the front of it was packed with tons of debris. I washed it out, from the back, and my AC has worked perfectly since.

I"m having problems with mine too.
It works ok, but it blows out hot air! Sometimes it is 'cool'' air, but 9 times out of 10, it's hot. And sometimes I"ll leave it on thinking it will eventually turn to cold(Never does) the air pressure drops, and one time it even shut off! Now, I have no clue about a/c 's but I know there is something wrong. Any suggestion is helpfull. ~Deja~ |

You might not like it, but my suggestion is to take it to a licensed A/C shop and pay the $12.95 (or whatever they get in your local) for system tests. Find out what's wrong, and with the forum's help you can decide if it's something you want to try and fix yourself.
Barring that, run the diagnostics, take pressure readings from both the high and low side, test the voltages at the appropriate pins, and watch the clutch for proper engagement. The manual has pages of steps for the proper diagnosis of problems. |

I just had my Freon recharged and it didn’t' solve the problem. I think it’s because the condenser is clogged up with crap, in addition to its fins being smashed in by flying debris on the highway over the years. I tried to clean it out with a hose but it didn't help. I don't know how difficult or expensive it would be to replace it. Perhaps someone could elaborate?
