Engine swap
How hard do you all think it would be if you got a twin turbo legacy engine and tranny to hook up to the svx along with the link system that hooks up to the laptop to control engine and everything??How hard would it be to make it actually fit and what not??just curious...THanks in advance

Also i cant remember their names but someone on here swapped a wrx engine in. IF you read this please respond here so i can pm you or talk to you by email. That would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone knows who i am talking about the name would be greatly appreciated.

If I were going to do a swap, I think I'd swap in a Forrester XT motor and tranny. The motor is essentially an STi motor, and the tranny is essentially a 5MT. An WRX STi motor and 6MT tranny swap is also a possibility. Just a bit more work. These motors are more torquey than the WRX 2.0L motor.

What would the cost be on a an forrester combo swap aproximately? I can get the twin turbo engine with aproximately 35000mi with a legacy 5 spd for 2000+shipping...Kinda high? just getting ideas...thanks for any help in advance

im not even sure really if there is but i was just talking by email with the gentleman that has the ej20 swap and he said that it would physically bolt up but the second turbo could take up more room then there is space for. Just was curious as i saw this option when i was looking for transmissions. I figured it was worth a look into atleast.

Legacy B4 twin turbo motor (RSK) will not fit in any left hand drive vehicle. The piping for the second turbo is in the way.
Single turbo setups only on LHD... sorry dude. |

That narrows it down to Forester XT/Baja turbo motor and STi motor as the only real good motors for a swap...

Remember most of those parts for the 2.0 WRX engine will fit the 2.5 XT engine... That engine would be much better than the 2.0... This has been discussed many many times... The SVX (Without a driver) weighs as much as a WRX with a full tank of gas and FOUR passengers.... It would always lug around.... Especially off boost...

i think a WRX engine would be alot easier (and cheaper) to find than a 2.5 Turbo engine.

Yea, I guess that if done right the 2.0 would work, but I'd feel like it is just too small for the SVX.... But when I see it and see that it works I'd probably support it a little more

i think it would be a great engine for the SVX... nice and easy when you want to drive it around town... then hit 3K rpms, and your GONE... (specially if you get it up to 330 hp) :drools:

I looked into that... I think that that engine rotates in a diffrent direction than our engines do...
