Perhaps you should read to the end of that for sale thread. I can virtually guarantee that you would save money by buying Tom's car vs. doing one yourself. But you don't appear to be that kind of person in any event.

Still would like to emphasize that the H6 is a large part of the car's character. It's a front-engine Porsche. If you want a fast, pretty H4, get a '98-ish RS and add power (see "22B" to get the pretty part). If you want a fast SVX, stick with 6 cylinders. My $.02.

Dont feel bad diehards, even if I had a Veyron I'd drive the freggen wheels off it. And crank up the boost!
I agree with you . I've always contended that the SVX is a canvass, just like anything else. Owners swap wheels, exhausts, cams, transmissions, etc., and on and on, so what’s the difference here? Not much.

You have done many swaps. You have the resources, talent, and experience to pull this off. I have a few SVXes, most of which were broken and ready for the bone-yard. I am the original owner of a ’92 SVX. I would do this swap in a second on one of the cars if I had the time, knowledge, experience and money. Engine swaps are the American way, the basis of the Hot Rod era. Today we have ‘tuner’ cars. Stock is beautiful, but at times boring. Your swap is a Subaru into a Subaru, and in my book, that is always okay .

Just-Do-It and take us along for the ride. Yes, the SVX world will change forever , but many here will be supportive and proud, including me .

Re: Thinking the 3.3 has got to go...

All told (and unfortunately so), the extent of our experience and knowledge with an EJ swap into an SVX has been posted or linked here... not much to work with.

Just take a lot of pics, ok?
