The EGR solenoid is under the intake manifold, passenger side, and bolted to the intake manifold just behind the middle intake port. Its a pain to remove and replace without removing the manifold, but I did it in about an hour. You can test the operation of it by applying 12v to one terminal and grounding the other, it should click and allow airflow between the two vacuum ports on it. There are specific diagrams in the online service manual, the link is in my signature.

Thanks I actually have an extra manifold, I'm going to pull it out and take a look at it, maybe it still has it on.

Re: EGR What is it? How hard to replace.

I took a look at the bottom of my spare intake and I was just wondering what all was attached, so I took a picture and noted the various connectors on it. I was hoping somebody could label them for me, it would be a help.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Thanks

5 is your EGR solenoid valve

4 is the purge control solenoid valve

3 is the VC tank

2 is your auxillary air control valve

No problem and thanks..... and believe me everything I learned about the SVX is from the other guys at this site, im just passing it on. (Service manual helped a little too )

Oh and the check valve for the brake booster keeps vacuum to the booster in case the engine stalls, allowing asisted braking for one or two more presses of the pedal.
