Thanks...I apreciate the advice.

I am still trying to decide what to do. I saw sparry's pictures, now I want to reseal everything too It needs it.

Before I really get into it with a lot of $$ I am installing new spark plugs (NGK iridium ix) and I am going to do a compression check to make sure everything is healthy.

My current plan is OEM front seals/pump/thermostat from subaru parts.com and timing belt kit with pullys from ebay. I haven't ordered these parts yet.

I am still undecided on the harmonic balancer. I might opt for an aluminum one.

I love this car and it safely got me through some very treacherous weather the last couple of years driving through Washoe Valley.
