the Big Reds might be overkill, though - 928 S4/GT brakes would be even cheaper. they stopped my 3500+lb S4 like it was hitting a brick wall, so they would be insane on a lightweight 951.
Big reds would definitely be insane. I echo the s4 brake opinion unless you are going to extensively track the car. S4 brakes will give you the same aesthetic appeal as well.

Top end rebuild with all new seals and gaskets. Timing belt replaced in February and retensioned this month. All other belts replaced as well. Water pumps are a known issue with all water cooled front motors, I'll have to see when that was redone.

Oh, it's a 1988. In the US, the 951 was 1986, 1987, and 1988. The 951 S was 1988 also, all 1989's were called 951, but were S's in specs. No 1990 951's legally imported. 944 S2 was 1989 to 1991, the 968 came out as a late 1992.

I think the motor looks pretty nice. The front panel was custom modded to allow more air underhood to address the heat issue.

Here's the list he sent me:

1988 non-S 951.
150,000 miles.
Black on Linen
Cup II replicas wheels 7.5 and 9 x 17 with recent Fuzions.
Recent headgasket with all new gaskets above the head (compression is 130-135 at all 4). The belts will be redone before selling.
Autothority MAF with stage II chips
Tial 38mm with MBC ( installed in Lindsey gauge panel under stereo).
A-pillar gauge pod with Autometer ProComp Boost/Vac gauge and norrowband AFR (I have original a-pillar if you want to remove the gauges.
Momo Trek steering wheel (Original still available) and Momo shift knob with SFR short throw lever.
H&R 220lb front springs (1" lower)
Koni sport rear shocks
Vented stock nose panel.
GT racing front splitter.
Iceshark batery cable set (both positive cables and engine ground along with Cibie E-code lenses with 55/60 bulbs).
Pioneer DEH-4700 Cd player (Includes aux input cable for I-pod or satellite radio)with 4x6 Planet Audio speakers in the doors and 6x9 in the rear cubbies.

^^ Sounds like a great car. As the compression is even across all cylinders, it sounds like the head gasket issue was fixed properly. 150K is not a lot of miles considering the car is an '88 951 (less than 10K per year).

As long as the price is right, definitely check her out. I really hope you get her!

water pump is usually done with the timing belt - the increased tension of a new belt usually will cause an old pump to fail. make sure the H2O pump was replaced as well.

Not to hijack my own thread, but one more win for the Devils, and a Rangers loss, and we get the division.

I'll ask about the water pump. I updated my signature in the hope it will bring me some luck in getting her.

I tried using an online translator for German-to-English, but it wasn't much help either...

Agh! WTF? You'd rather Auto-X or drag then come hang out for a day? I'll be there just on Saturday. Can't you convince her to come to, just for one day? This blows.
