We're stuck with 91 octane out here in Cali.

Kerry,
I'm going to add a summary of all the dyno runs I've been able to pull together (including yours) to this thread. I do need the date you did your 6spd dyno runs and how many miles were on your engine when you dyno'ed the car.

Alright, the dyno runs were done on 16 August. The car at the time has 97K. Still the version 5 software and stock FPR.

Heres the plot.

interesting...looks like ~222 Hp@crank if one assumes a 15% drivetrain loss due to the 6spd....

Yeah, its more like 20-25% loss. Stock BHP in the EG33 is 230.

25% is on a good 5mt... There are alot bigger and more moving parts in the 6mt so it is closer to 30% loss.

FYI...

Per dyno results by awd 6mt WRX STIs and Evo MR's, the drivetrain loss is around 24-25% on an awd 6mt. 5spds with awd have a drivetrain loss around 22-23%.

AWD 4eat and 5eat Subaru automatics have drivetrain losses closer to 30%.

im a little dissapointed in those numbers considering it also has the intake cams. It seems you were putting out around 250 crank hp....25% loss would be around 188 wheel. Chike wasnt putting out much less than that and he didnt have the exhaust, 2v5, or cams. Chike was putting out about 238 crank hp on his run. Id hope to get more than 12hp from an exhaust, cams, and chip.

One thing which became apparent during the 2yr ownership of my SVX, the EG33 in my car was a factory freak. It definitely was a strong engine.

An SVX with an exhaut and an intake will probobly dyno close to the same #'s if it was completely stock. these are not limiting factors to the EG33. Do not forget Kerry is also having some issues with his 02 sensors and has been in "limp home" mode because of it. Stop using the figure of crank horse power, it is a myth, used by idiots to predict the comming of the anti-christ. Wheel HP is all that matters when discussing a dyno plot, since you are not using an unknow percentage of loss to calculate a totally unreliable figure. Chike is right in saying he had a freakish car. I worked on that car and I was the one who helped put in his cams, and I tell you what, it was just a really strong car. No one could touch him if they had the same mods to their car... good strong motor thats all.

I don't think the O2 CEL is throwing me into limp mode. The car is still strong on the freeway. She's going up in a rack tomorrow for the pre-autoX checks and try and chase down this 02 gripe.
