Okay...

Looking in Mike's locker, it looks like he has a 17" wheel and he had posted this pic of some new BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW's he put on prior to the Stage III install:



I'm going to *assume* that the tire size he's using is 245/40/17 (which keeps it close to the stock rolling diameter with 225/50/16 tires).

Approximate max speed in each gear at a 6,500rpm redline is:

1st 34mph
2nd 52mph
3rd 70mph
4th 91mph
5th 115mph
6th 146mph

However, if mikecg shifts at 6,000rpms, max speed in each gear is now:

1st 31mph
2nd 48mph
3rd 64mph
4th 84mph
5th 107mph
6th 134mph

P.S. You shouldn't need to shift into 6th gear Mike. However, you need to practicve shifting like a mofo through the first five!

How large are your tires? Was I close in my guesstimation? I know kdw's are pretty darn sticky!!!

I think all of LAN's chips remove the factory speed limiter - but you can check with him on that (unless you've done field testing! )

remember, with the walbro you dont ever want to run down to the gas light. The pump is lubricated by the gas, and even a few seconds of running dry can burn it out.

Mike dropped the fuel pump upgrade from the stage III. The stock put is suffient. He did it to bring the cost down a little.

He mentioned in a thread over on NASIOC that he had a JDM trans and was looking for a way to swap out 5th and 6th gears for taller gears as his cruising rpms were high on the highway.
