Question Auto Cross? Has anyone Autocrossed this baby yet?

Hey Guys,
Has anyone autocrossed this car yet?
If so, how did it handle?
Some friends of mine have been asking me to do it but I'm afraid to ruin my baby.

Ask your friends if this autocrossing can be done at 150mph in the snow - that's really more the SVX's style than the parking-lot brake-turn-gas-brake-BRAKE-BRAKE-turn-gas-slide stuff.

Auto Cross?

I don't do well with breaking. I like to keep my foot on the gas for as long as possible.
I don't think i'm going to get into autocrossing.

RALLY cross

Hey! I haven't autocrossed, but I rally crossed. I just updated my locker yesterday with pictures from the event. Check it out:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/use...eryShadeofBlue|1444

This was on Sept. 22 (my birthday...great gift to myself) and was actually sponsored by Subaru!

Of course the car handles great. However, it does rely on the driver to make smart moves. Like the whole handbrake business, I can't do it! I need training. It's like walking and chewing gum at the same time. I tried to do it, but then I couldn't steer right because I was preoccupied with the brake. That's the picture you'll see where I went into the bushes and the leaf imprints left.

I had an absolute BLAST rally crossing and my car came out unscathed. In fact, it runs better now. I think it needed to be open up and show some muscle. It's not so wimpy anymore. I didn't beat any WRX's mind you, but put a good driver behind the wheel of an SVX and who knows what could happen.

Harry Newman (newsvx) and his son have both been Autocrossing their SVXes for a year or so. They'd be your best bet. Olu (Svxit) has also done a little as well as Maria-is-a-speed-nut, who doesn't visit with us anymore (unfortunately). Her SVX is not well and hasn't been for some time.

Didn't she trade it for a Maxima?

never auto X

but i have run my svx wide open at the memphis motorsports park. they have a road course. car handled great, the front straight is acutally where the drag strip is. car got up to 125-130 before running out of road. this car is nimble for its size and made quick work of both the "m" and "90's" sections. anyway lots of fun filled pedal to the metal action.
